The String Trio No. 2 Pas de Trois is a critical reflection on the human (in)ability to engage in dialogue, about talking past each other, about not understanding the respective dialogue partner, and about the (lack of) willingness to listen. In the music, this is emphasised at many points in the work through different time levels in, and indifferently structured, often contradictory compositional means (tonal colours,harmonic-melodic sequences, articulations etc.) with which the 3 musicians act. In a few places, the common ground, the togetherness succeeds: moments of powerfully released energies and hopes.
